As the Lyric Opera of Chicago (Lyric) initiatives expanded over the years, sub-brands began to form dissolving the overarching Lyric identity. In order to ensure that Lyric “gets credit” for its hard work as a Chicago premier art institution, the organization moved to a master brand strategy. This included:

  • Refining Lyric's existing identifier  
  • Developing a new verbal and visual system
  • Establishing a strikingly unique marketing approach focused on evocative imagery, custom typefaces, and colors
  • Architecting and designing a new website
  • Producing various development materials to support Lyric's growing iniatives

Creating each season's production imagery has been the most challenging yet most enjoyable part of working with Lyric. The new marketing approach of fusing evocative imagery, custom typefaces, and accent colors successfully evoked the meaning and emotion of each production.
